Mink
Mink are dark-colored, semiaquatic, carnivorous mammals of the genera Neovison and Mustela, and part of the family Mustelidae which also includes weasels, otters and ferrets. There are two extant species referred to as “mink”: the American mink and the European mink. The extinct sea mink is related to the American mink, but was much larger. The American mink is larger and more adaptable than the European mink but, due to variations in size, an individual mink usually cannot be determined as European or American with certainty without looking at the skeleton; however, all European mink have a large white patch on their upper lip, whereas only some American mink have this marking: therefore, any mink without the patch is certainly of the American species. Taxonomically, both American and European mink were placed in the same genus Mustela, but most recently, the American mink has been reclassified as belonging to its own genus Neovison,More info:wiki

After animal activists once again unleashed a horde of carnivorous mink on the Ontario countryside, the Canadian Mink Breeders Association has put up a staggering $100,000 reward to rein in the “extremists.”
“These criminals don’t think that people have a right to use animals, fine, but these are domesticated animals that have been raised on farms for more than 100 generations,” said mink farmer Kirk Rankin in a Tuesday statement announcing the six figure reward to catch the “cruel and irresponsible” persons responsible.
#7 Facts About Minks,More info:livescience
Minks are small mammals with long, thin bodies, short legs, pointed snouts and claws. These soft creatures are related to ermines, ferrets and weasels and look much like their relatives. Their fur is highly valued.
There are two species of minks: European minks and American minks. They were once classified in the same genus, Mustela, but recent research has led to the American mink being classified separately in the Neovison genus, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

#5 The Mysterious Decline of Iceland’s American Invader,More info:hakaimagazine
There’s more than one way to find a mink. But no way, it turns out, is particularly easy.
On the coastal cliffs of Búðir, on Iceland’s western Snæfellsnes Peninsula, it’s raining sideways. Gusts of wind, measured in meters per second, blow well over 15, limiting our forward momentum. Up ahead, Snorri Rafnsson clambers over clumps of long, windswept grasses that form a spongy mat over a maze of lava rock crevices. His six dogs have picked up the pungent, earthy scent of an American invader. In an all-out frenzy, they pile on top of each other and kick up dirt, in hot pursuit of the mink.
#4 American Mink Neovison vison,More info:inaturalist
The American mink (Neovison vison) is a semiaquatic species of mustelid native to North America, though human intervention has expanded its range to many parts of Europe and South America. Because of range expansion, the American mink is classed as a least-concern species by the IUCN. Since the extinction of the sea mink, the American mink is the only extant member of the genus Neovison. The American mink is a carnivore that feeds on rodents, fish, crustaceans, frogs, and birds. In its introduced range in Europe it has been classified as an invasive species linked to declines in European mink, Pyrenean desman, and water vole populations. It is the animal most frequently farmed for its fur, exceeding the silver fox, sable, marten, and skunk in economic importance.
#3 4 Reasons You Should Never Get Mink Eyelashes,More info:peta
1. They come from fur farms. Purveyors of mink fur used for false eyelashes slap familiar, reassuring labels on their products, like “ethically sourced,” “free-range,” and “cruelty-free.” But just like with meat, those labels serve one purpose: to deceive consumers. Minks can’t be “free-range.” They’re solitary, territorial animals who become aggressive when they feel threatened, and they would fight if confined to a small area together. Instead, they’re kept separately in cramped wire cages on fur farms, where they’re denied the opportunity to bathe, swim, burrow, or do anything else that’s natural and important to them and often denied even basic necessities such as food, water, and medical care.
