The X-Files revival season was a thing that happened this year, with the show returning to solid if not spectacular reviews. The season finale of the six-episode comeback airs Monday night, which unfortunately means we will again have to deal with Gillian Anderson not being on our television screens. Anderson is famous for playing Agent Dana Scully on X-Files, and for not having aged since 1993. Over the weekend, Anderson was asked during a Twitter Q&A what role she would love to have if she ever played a villainous role, and her answer was pretty intriguing.

When she’s not hunting down serial killer Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan) in The Fall or investigating conspiracy theories as Dana Scully on The X-Files, Gillian Anderson writes inspiring tomes for women to help them with their low self-esteem, apparently.

This March, Anderson will release her book titled We: A Manifesto for Women Everywhere, with London-based journalist Jennifer Nadel, to help young women – especially teenagers – address their lack of confidence and self-love.

Special agent Dana Scully would never pick up a copy of We: A Manifesto for Women Everywhere. Indeed, it seems surprising that Gillian Anderson, who played Scully in The X-Files, would write this quasi-self-help book aimed at guiding women “on a path of self-discovery and spiritual awakening”. While on stage and screen she plays strong and complicated characters, the 48-year-old mother says she does feel fragile at times.

Gillian Anderson is no stranger to strange worlds.

The former star of The X-Files, which became a worldwide hit and spawned two feature films, Anderson has, for now anyway, traded in Dana Scully’s FBI-issued handgun and severe suits for the tight-laced corsets and flowing frocks of such period dramas as Bleak House, The House of Mirth, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story, The Crimson Petal and the White, Moby Dick, and Any Human Heart, in which she played a deliciously conniving Wallace Simpson, complete with a false nose. But it’s Anderson’s jaw-dropping turn as Miss Havisham in Great Expectations, which airs Sunday evening on PBS’s Masterpiece Classic after a three-night run in December on BBC One, that erases any trace of Scully’s bravado.

#3   Gillian Anderson: Steal Her Style,More info:vickiarcher

Mistress of the workplace attire, she embodies the mastery of being both feminine and practical in the most elegant of ways.

As ‘The Fall’ returns to our televisions, so does Stella Gibson’s impeccable style. Gillian Anderson’s personal fashion is not all that far apart from her on-screen ego, even down to that scrumptious blow dry.

Aged 48, she is the epitome of chic, and who wouldn’t want to steal her style?

In an industry of male supremacy, Stella Gibson dresses for herself and the confidence she radiates is not just for show. She continues to stay true to her illustrious blonde locks which frame her subtly made-up face, but despite her beautiful appearance, it is often her clothes that speak a thousand words.

#2   Gillian Anderson Not Happy About All-Male “X-Files” Creative Team,More info:bloody-disgusting

Gillian Anderson, who finally gets her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year, has made no bones about the fact that she’s not okay with the way the entertainment industry often treats its men a whole lot better than its women. Female-directed films like Wonder Woman are still a rarity, and the issue of unequal pay is one that Anderson has herself contended with.

Headlines were made last year when Anderson revealed that she was initially offered half of what David Duchovny was to return to “The X-Files, which was a pretty clear cut example of the gender inequalities in the business. After all, Anderson and Duchovny are unquestionably of equal importance to the FOX series that they together made famous.
