Courteney Bass Cox (born June 15, 1964) is an American actress, producer, and director. She is best known for her roles as Monica Geller on the NBC sitcom Friends, Gale Weathers in the horror series Scream, and Jules Cobb in the ABC/TBS sitcom Cougar Town, for which she earned her first Golden Globe nomination. Cox also starred in the FX series Dirt. She owns a production company, called Coquette Productions, which was created by Cox and her then-husband David Arquette. Ageing in the limelight is undoubtedly a challenge for many celebrities, especially when every turned corner presents a camera capable of zooming in on each pore, wrinkle, and slight blemish. There are many things people do to their appearance when young which they later regret, be that something harmless like dying your hair green or something slightly harder to reverse like getting your boyfriend’s initials tattooed in an intimate area.

And cosmetic surgery is certainly something that shouldn’t be entered into lightly, as Courteney Cox has pointed out.

The actress has revealed that she’s had all her cosmetic work undone.

Monica Geller, I mean Courteney Cox, gave an interview in New Beauty yesterday in which she discussed a topic that very few women speak candidly about, much less a famous Hollywood actress…[drumroll plz]: aging. “I think getting older is just hard in general,” she said. “I feel like I’m 34, so the thought that I’m not just doesn’t seem natural…But Hollywood — this business — makes it harder. I grew up thinking that appearance was the most important thing. That’s kind of sad because it got me in trouble. I was trying so hard to keep up, and I actually made things worse.”

This confession is a little heartbreaking, but not wholly unsurprising. When Courteney Cox was cast in a starring role on Friends and suddenly found herself (and her appearance) in a very public spotlight, she was 30 years old. According to Leslie (age: 35), age 30 is precisely when “you freak out” about aging. Imagine being on the cusp of an aging freakout and the cusp of an epic level of fame at the same time.
