Sutherland Falls can only be visited when walking the complete Milford Track which takes 3 1/2 days. To visit the waterfall, you need to make a 90-minute sidetrip; the photo shown here has been taken from the main track. The start of Milford track is basically only accessible by boat from Te Anau Downs which can be reached either by car or by bus from Te Anau. Booking the trip and track is essential.
