Johnny Depp‘s latest movie won’t be hitting theaters on the date it was scheduled for.

City of Lies, a true-crime drama exploring what happened to famed rapper Notorious B.I.G., has been pulled from its Sept. 7 release date by studio Global Road Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Depp plays Russell Poole, an LAPD detective who is haunted by the mystery of who killed B.I.G. A new release date has not been set for the film.

Depp is also set to star in the upcoming Warner Bros. movie, Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald, a sequel set in the Potter universe and written by J.K. Rowling. The film is scheduled for a Nov. 16 release.

Hollywood movies haven’t quite yet get their head around the idea of cryptocurrency stories, but a new project in development is set to focus in on a particularly notorious crypto investor. It’s a start.

That’s because the story of Matthew Mellon, who died earlier this year at the age of just 54, is being developed into a feature film. Furthermore, Johnny Depp is being targeted to play Mellon in the movie.

Mellon was one of the earliest investors in Bitcoin, and it allowed him to transform his wealth into a flat-out fortune. That said, he reportedly spent his funds on heavy partying, and things it’s probably not a good idea to put into your body. His addictions were said to be what led to his premature death.

Quite how his story will be told remains to be seen. The New York Post, that broke the story, reports that Mellon’s family are divided over the project, which thus far is at the writing stage. Once a screenplay is completed and agreed on – and there’s no guarantee it will be – then it’ll be shopped to studios and investors.
