U2 frontman Bono and his bandmates have been in Montreal for almost two weeks now. The Irish supergroup took over the Bell Centre for four shows on June 12, 13, 16, and 17, and, between gigs, managed to party with Arcade Fire and Guy Laliberté at Salsathèque. It looks like the Dublin native is a houseguest at the Cirque du Soleil honcho’s mansion south of Montreal (see below). Bono was also spotted at Old Montreal restaurant Le Club Chasse et Pêche and, randomly this past weekend, up north at Saint-Sauveur spot Maestro.
#8 Bono on his (many) shortcomings as a human being: ‘To understand your weakness is your only chance of ever being strong’,More info:independent
The fact that Bono is a deeply flawed, introspective human being with about as much public humility as a swaggering WWE wrestler will hardly be news to most people.
But in an unusual change of tact, the U2 frontman has confessed that, like many of us, he’s not quite the epitome of rock perfection we never perceived him to be.
“To understand your weakness is your only chance of ever being strong,” he told The Sun.
“I’m a weak, flawed person. I have a wild side. A different version of myself would be sleeping on the beach, or worse, floating out to sea.

Bono net worth: Bono is an Irish musician and political activist who has a net worth of $700 million. He is best known for being the lead singer of the band U2. He is also an investor and philanthropist.
Early Life: Bono was born Paul David Hewson in Dublin, Ireland, on May 10, 1960. He was raised in the suburb of Finglas by Iris and Brendan Robert “Bob” Hewson. Iris passed away when Bono was just 14 years old. He grew up idolizing David Bowie, Bob Dylan, and Leonard Cohen and was involved with friends in a surrealist street gang called Lypton Village. The gang gave Bono his nickname, Bono Vox of O’Connell Street, in which the first part of the name, bonavox, translates to “good voice.” He chose to use Bono as a stage name, however, everyone in his personal life also now calls him Bono, including close family and friends.
#6 Bono Left a Massive Tip at Canter’s Deli, Is Still Weird as Hell,More info:la.eater
Ireland’s whitest non-potato export, Bono, was in town with a small rock & roll outfit known as U2 last week. The upstart band apparently kept things pretty casual and under-the-radar, which left the Human Sunglasses himself a little free time to visit Canter’s Deli on Fairfax in Los Angeles for a corned beef sandwich and some fries — allegedly leaving a $150 tip and a lot of hair gel on the table in the process.
News of the outsized tip, which came on a $20 bill of fare, was breathlessly reported by Irish Central, a stateside online publication hellbent on bringing news of the Emerald Isles to the US. Per the report, Bono asked a 50-year old waitress to craft an order for him, and was so smitten with the corned beef sando and 1/2 & 1/2 order of fries and onion rings he got as a result, he dropped a 750% tip on his way out the door that had the staff singin’ Beautiful Day.

Hard to believe, but Bono’s already burned through his first 50 years on Earth. Don’t let those fresh looks fool you though. Having achieved godlike rock status he’s on to his next job: Saving Africa, ending poverty and the scourge of Aids. (The post of President of the Earth hasn’t been established just yet.)
As Bono turns 50, spare a thought for a man you’ve probably never heard of before. His name is Richard “Dik” Evans. In 1976 together with Paul David Hewson (Bono), Adam Clayton, and his brother David Evans (The Edge) he’d answer a newspaper advert stuck on a bulletin board calling for members for a new rock band. The four would audition, but soon after in a key moment of separating fortunes, Bono and friends would abandon doing cover songs in favour of writing original material and move on to form a group called U2. Dik Evans would choose to leave just before the formation of U2 to join a band called The Virgin Prunes.
